Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy
Individual therapy gives you dedicated time and space to explore whatever is weighing on you. I work with people experiencing anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, trauma, addiction, identity concerns, and many other challenges. You don't need to have a diagnosis or a clear sense of what's wrong — sometimes people come simply because something feels off, and that's enough to begin.
My approach is person-centred and grounded in Lacanian psychoanalysis. That means I'm not directive — I don't come in with a fixed agenda or a set of techniques to apply. I follow your lead. We go at your pace, in whatever direction feels most alive or most important. Over time, this creates the conditions for genuine insight: understanding not just what you're feeling, but why, and what it connects to in your history and relationships.
I work with adults of all ages, genders, sexualities, and backgrounds. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming. Whatever you bring — however difficult or shameful it may feel — I will listen without judgement.
Common questions
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an extended conversation — a chance for us to meet and for me to understand what's brought you to therapy. I'll ask about your situation, your background, and what you're hoping to get from our work. There's no pressure to share anything you're not ready for. By the end we'll have a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
How long will I need to come to therapy?
This varies widely. Some people find that eight to twelve sessions gives them what they need. Others prefer to work over months or years, particularly when they're doing deeper exploratory work. We'll review progress together as we go, and you're always free to stop when you feel ready.
